Engineer – Mining

Qualifications :

• S1 in Mining Engineering with minimum 3 years related experience in field, mine planning tools, or in associated high-level long-term planning roles.
• Experience working with Power BI and VBA.
• Sound knowledge and exposure to a range of planning techniques and the tools (i.e., Minex and SPRY) to translate those ideas into reality.
• Sound knowledge and exposure in creating reports and handling production databases (actual and forecast).
• Good understanding of engineering and economic principles.
• Strong people management skills.
• Good negotiation and influencing skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good financial skills to handle capital appropriation, costing, and budget responsibilities.
• Good communication skills in Bahasa and English; as a guide, level of proficiency in English is minimum level 4.
• Strong commitment to KPC’s general standards and more specifically the safety and environmental standards.

Key elements of the position include :

• Provide Pit and dump designs including access ramp and panel stage integrated with dump sequence to optimize distance and stripping ratio.
• Reserve and schedule block pit using Mine Planning standards to achieve context and optimum Capex to support mining.
• Assist Senior Mining Engineer to analyze and review current design systems and panels, mine sequence, and procedures to recommend improvements.
• Provide long-term calculation of top soiling, clearing, re-disturb, and rehabilitation plan as per each Senior Engineer’s area responsibility.
• Provide long-term calculation of distance soil movement and design of topsoil stockpile as per each Senior Engineer’s area responsibility.
• Assist Senior Mining Engineer in developing LOM Dashboard.
• Review all designs sent to the geotechnical team for alignment with the current mine plan.
• Demonstrate and encourage conformity to and implementation of HSE regulations, policies, rules, and systems.
• Supervise and implement business and performance improvement within the work unit.
• Implement activities as an instruction to achieve efficient and optimum manner.
• Contribute to the implementation of knowledge management within the work unit by, e.g., performing coaching and knowledge sharing with peers.
